About the Artists Featured at PAMM Shop
AHOLSNIFFSGLUE and Werner Blumenthal
At the heart of every AHOL JEWELRY piece is the soul of a true creative, the logic of an engineer and thus, the marriage of beauty & technology. The walls of the city recount his childhood angst. The scene recognizes his passion, and now the epicenter of glamour, excitement and art sees itself through his iconic eyes. The next logical step is to immortalize his vision in precious metals. Inspired by the energy of Miami, Ahol is a brand of simplicity, geometry and obscurity; it is that obscureness that makes the abstract real. When Werner Blumenthal, award winning engineer and designer met with David Anasagasti, rugged visionary and conceptualist, it forged a friendship which led to an alchemy of style and design. From the street to the studio, Ahol is true expression.
AMLgMATD
AMLgMATD is a collaborative studio established by Laz Ojalde and Natalie Zlamalova in 2014, experimenting in works of art, design objects and environments that reflect Laz and Natalie’s quirky points of view and love of unusual and overlooked materials. Inspired by patterns and colors mirrored in the everyday world, they look at their surroundings with a fresh pair of eyes and redefine it with a bit of wit and humor.
Laz is a Miami native, Natalie is a Czech transplant. Both were educated in California in the Art & Design fields and met during their artists residency at the ArtCenter/South Florida on Lincoln Road. Their recent projects include a full bus wrap for the Miami-Dade Transit, a site-specific interactive environment at the Moore Building in Miami’s Design District, a sculptural performance art space at Untitled Art Fair 2015, the debut of their latest furniture concept at ICFF New York, and a 16’ outdoor installation at the Deering Estate, to name a few.
AMLgMATD’s latest product line focuses on the application of a familiar material onto a new form, and an unexplored material into a familiar setting. Their upcoming project includes a collaboration with Miami’s Exile Books at this year’s UNTITLED Art Fair, providing their signature WEBSTR Stool as public seating throughout the Fair.
Dafné Alleno
It all began with the idea of creating elegant and edgy jewels easy to put on and remove. Combining lightness and refinement, each single piece is comfortable to wear, so light, such a “second skin” jewel. Born in Mexico, Dafné has worked 7 years in the high-end French house of YSL where she learns feminine luxury and French refinement. In and out between Miami and Paris, she has decided to set off to create her own jewelry brand for which she received the “Tiffany jewelry award” during Miami Beach Fashion week in March 2011. She opened officially her namesake company in 2012 and start to become popular across the borders.
Michelle Weinberg
Michelle Weinberg is a visual artist living and working in New York City and Miami. She creates works in painting and collage, designs rugs, tiles, mosaic and paint murals, and produces art for architecture and public spaces. Her imagery inhabits a “Pretend Dimension” in which elastic perspectives, personalized geometries, and fictitious architectures elaborate stage-set like narratives. Her works in all media are conceived as vivid backdrops for human activity.
