On May 6, 2017, residents from the three spring Inside|Out communities of Biscayne Park, Opa-Locka, and Overtown were brought to PAMM for the opportunity to see the works of art installed throughout their communities on the walls of the museum.
Each community was offered a bus to shuttle residents to and from PAMM to enjoy a day at the museum. Upon arriving, each resident received an Inside|Out tote filled with giveaways. Later, the group came together for Inside|Out focused tour led by teaching artists Alex Zastera and Laura Prada. While touring the museum, the group saw works familiar to them through the Inside|Out program in addition to other works and special exhibitions on view. The group discussed the difference between viewing the works in the museum environment compared to outdoors in communities.
PAMM Inside|Out is on view through September 2017 in the Miami-Dade County communities of Biscayne Park, Opa-Locka and Overtown in the spring, and Little Haiti, North Miami Beach and Surfside in the summer. For full schedule of events, visit pamm.org/insideout.
