We’re gearing up for our Fourth Annual PAMM Corporate Cocktail on Thursday, May 10, 7-10pm, for a night of incredible culinary creations by Chef Jose Mendin. We invite you to join our community of corporate supporters for an evening of philanthropy and networking, this year hosted by Habitat at 1 Hotel South Beach. Join other emerging professional leaders who understand the importance of the business community’s commitment to the arts. Don’t have your tickets yet? There’s still time to purchase them here.
Puerto Rico native Jose Mendin is a five-time James Beard Award-nominated chef, who has brought the 305 food scene staples such as Pubbelly Noodle Bar, Pubbelly Sushi, PB Burger, and his newest restaurant, Habitat. Mendin chatted with PAMM before the big night about his influences and what he’s cooking up for our Corporate Cocktail.
What defines Miami cuisine?
Miami’s food scene is defined by the city’s cultural diversity. We offer a wide array of cuisines that blend together seamlessly–from Puerto Rican to European, you can find it all here.
How do your roots and background influence your food?
I try to always blend flavors from my native country, Puerto Rico, with various cooking styles and techniques. For me, it’s important to showcase my culinary experiences in every dish.
How did you create the menu for the evening?
I wanted to give guests a taste of what I am doing at Habitat while still mixing things up! The menu will feature some fresh amberjack, croquetas, and bacon-wrapped dates.
How does Habitat’s relationship with PAMM stand out?
It’s a wonderful relationship and honestly, a perfect pairing. PAMM is a leader in innovation and that is what we strive for at Habitat every day.
What is the importance of Habitat supporting the PAMM Corporate Cocktail?
It’s important for us to support the community and align ourselves with businesses that focus on human interactions, and we couldn’t be happier to support PAMM with this Corporate Cocktail.
