On Wednesday, March 13, 2019, Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) recognized trustee Laura Kaplan at Philanthropy Miami’s “Donor Next Door” luncheon. An ardent supporter of the arts, Kaplan became a member of the museum’s board in 2014. At PAMM, she is a member of the International Women’s Committee, the co-chair of the Advancement Committee, and serves on the steering committee for the newly launched Latin American and Latinx Art Fund.

In 2018, she chaired PAMM’s Eleventh Annual Corporate Luncheon, one of the museum’s major annual fundraising events, where all funds raised goes toward supporting the museum’s education programming—the largest outside the Miami-Dade Public School system. Under her leadership, Kaplan encouraged numerous businesses to pledge their support and the Corporate Luncheon was the most successful in the event’s history. Kaplan is committed to chair PAMM’s Twelfth Annual Corporate Luncheon scheduled for Wednesday, October 23, 2019. The institution is truly grateful for her leadership at PAMM, which continues to build on the legacy of Bank of America’s longstanding support of the arts in our community.

Kaplan received her bachelor’s degree in Mandarin and economics from Wellesley College and her master’s in international business studies in finance and Mandarin from the University of South Carolina. Residing in Coral Gables, Laura is actively involved in the United Way of Miami Dade as a Tocqueville board member. She is also a member of the Women’s Leadership Council, and previously chaired the Greater Miami Jewish Federation’s Professional Advisory Committee as well as served as a member of the board. Laura is passionate about the financial empowerment of women and is the chair elect for The Commonwealth Institute—a women’s mentoring group which empowers managers to become future leaders. She is currently a Managing Director/Private Client Advisor with U.S. Trust.
