In addition to being an independent curator and writer, Nicole Smythe-Johnson is the guest curator for the museum’s John Dunkley: Neither Day nor Night exhibition. The exhibition presents the work of John Dunkley, widely considered to be one of Jamaica’s most important historical artists.
In this video, Smythe-Johnson discusses a certain set of sculptures on display in the exhibition. These sculptures shed light on Dunkley’s fascination, as well as his “robust social life”.
On September 23, 2017, Smythe-Johnson and other panelists will lead a discussion on the work of Dunkley.
